This is a big part of this game, no resolution to a quest is clear cut, every quest has two sides to a story that questions your morality about what's just and what's not. The side quests were a mixed bag of fetch quests and actually interesting stuff that had a lot of grey areas. All the nature areas were more of the same, and the cities didn't have a huge impact on me like Sigil or Fort Joy did from other games. The world itself was really fleshed out lore-wise, but visually it wasn't anything to write home about. The best thing that came with the stronghold were The Endless Paths of Od Nua. All these 3 things recycled but with different colors, cool i guess but it could've added a lot more to the experience. You upgrade, you send your companions on assignements and others come to you for aid. The stronghold was quite a cool addition but could've been more. ![]() The game itself was not that difficult on hard, i believe playing on Path of the Damned. Most of the fights were easily cheesable, which is both a positive and a negative, whenever i felt a difficulty spike i just said fuck it and guided the boss/enemy to a door and put my tank in the way, ezpz. ![]() My MC was a cipher and it's a unique role to this world, it's basically a more sofisticated mage let's say but I enjoyed playing as one. ![]() Some classes were more useful than others to a point where i can't imagine a game without a priest, and never used a rogue and never felt like I needed to. The gameplay was simple at first glance but quite intricate the more the party levelled up. While the main story itself I have some problems with, the characters were all great and I felt connected to them all. The writing was perfect, every character was worth talking to, all the companions had distinct personalities that either made me like them or dislike them, there wasn't a single NPC or companion that i disliked strictly due to bad writing which I didn't expect from this game. Let's start off with what I really enjoyed here. Dragon Age did it better but I really felt like my character would be different from any others made by other players. Right off the bat, I appreciated the character creation and the ability to really chose your character's past and it not being the usual amnesiac that doens't know about himself and neither do you. The next part of my journey in a genre that I've slept on (CRPGs) is Pillars of Eternity, one of the two big CRPG franchises in recent years.
